Macro-TSH in patients with primary hypothyroidism due to autoimmune thyroiditis

Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is one of the key indicators in diagnosis thyroid gland functional disorders. Minor changes TSH concentration make it possible to suspect dysfunction even before clinical manifestations, which increases value correct and timely measurement it. In practice, an endocrinologist often encounter well-known phenomenon macroprolactinemia; a much less common macrotyrotropinemia (macro-TSH). The presence macro-TSH complexes can be suspected when serum detects atypically high values with reference FT4 without any signs hypothyroidism. Since based on autoimmune mechanism, detected patients thyroiditis (AIT). This article presents cases combination primary hypothyroidism due AIT.
